Thinking Citizen Blog —The Party of We and Yes (Part Three) If Not Now, When? If Not You, Who?
Thinking Citizen Blog — Sunday is Political Process Reform, Campaign Strategy, and Candidate Selection Day
Today’s Topic: The Party of We and Yes (Part Three) If not now, when? If not you, who?
I still think the Party of We and Yes is a good idea. In fact, a great idea. Despite its utter failure to get off the ground. The failure has been epic. After explosive growth from 1 to 2 in a matter of hours (my wife, Patti, joined), membership growth collapsed to zero and has been stalled at zero ever since. But hope springs eternal. And it’s Easter! It’s spring!
And, sadly, the urgency of action rises daily at an exponential rate!
Experts — please chime in. Correct, elaborate, elucidate.
THE ANSWER TO AI IS RI (real intelligence) and real intelligence begins with a precise definition of your dream for America and the world.
1. If you can’t define precisely your dream for America and the world, what hope is there for the world?
2. If you can’t define precisely your dream for America and the world, are you capable of judging someone else’s?
3. What is the best version you have heard of? Do you have the courage to share it? If not is there any hope for the world?
NB: How’s mine? “A place where every child born reaches their full potential for joy and productivity”?
I DON’T JUST HAVE A DREAM, I HAVE A DETAILED PLAN. WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT? YOU CAN START IMPLEMENTING IT TODAY. HAVE YOU TAKEN THE THINKING CITIZENSHIP TEST YET? WHAT ARE YOUR WAITING FOR? IF NOT YOU, WHO? IF NOT NOW, WHEN?
1. To reach their full potential for joy, productivity, and responsibility, every child must learn from grown ups who teach by example in homes, schools, and communities.
2. Reading without writing is like eating without digesting.
3. Writing without an analytical framework is like digesting without enzymes. Have you ever seen a better one than the Principles, Facts, and Solution Matrix? I published it over ten years ago and I haven’t seen one remotely as good. In fact, not a single serious alternative has been presented. Wow! Do I feel like Diogenes — or what?
NB: Writing without publishing is like sex without partner. Nothing wrong with it. Just not as good. THE 10,000 HOUR RULE IS AS RELENTLESS AND UNFORGIVING AS THE LAW OF GRAVITY
1. There are no shortcuts to real civic literacy.
2. How about biting the bullet?
3. What is true of tennis and piano is true of civics. Ten years to basic competence. But to stay fit you must practice daily forever.
NB: No pain, no gain.
CONCLUSION — See the final link below and take the Thinking Citizenship Test today with every member of your family, exchange your work and commit to a calendar that fits your particular interests. You are our only hope. The fate of American democracy and the world is in your hands.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH
“Make your own Bible. Select and collect all the words and sentences that in all your readings have been to you like the blast of a trumpet.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
My spin — then periodically review, re-rank, and exchange your list with those you love. I call this the “Orion Exchange” because seven is about as many as any human can digest at a time. Game?

YOUR TURN
Please share the coolest thing you learned in the last week related to political process or campaign strategy or 2020 candidate selection or anything else for that matter.
This is your chance to make someone else’s day or change their thinking. Or to consolidate in your own memory something worth remembering that might otherwise be lost. Or to clarify or deepen your own understanding of something dear to your heart. Continuity is key to depth of thought.
